CASUALS AGM
Thursday 27 May 2010

The Westminster Casuals 2010 AGM took place on Tuesday evening and we are delighted to report the club is in rude health as it prepares for its 20th season.

Chairhobbit Sam Holder presided over matters in Central London with John Skelly, Ollie Harker-Smith, Dave Brain and Dan Little in attendance.

With a round of lager shandies purchased (Ex Gaffer Geordie would be turning in his grave) discussions began and player recruitment was top of the agenda. It was agreed we are in need of a few quality additions if we hope to sustain a serious title challenge next season. It was agreed (through gritted teeth) that Andy Barnett will be a big loss when he completes his return up North.

Some messages will be placed on football websites this week and a 'Do you want to be a Casual' icon will appear on this site with details of how to get in touch.

Other items covered included:

GAFFERS 2009/10 REPORT
The season was considered a success with our League Cup victory the obvious highlight. The social scene is thriving and Dan and Ollie and keen to get more events in the diary. One point of concern is Dracula's excessive weight gain due to fatty foods consumed at the O2 but the club dietician will be issuing instructions.

PRE SEASON TRAINING
Plan is to start pre season training in the week beginning 19th July. Wednesday
or Thursday evenings TBC. Rulo will take as many sessions as possible so get ready for the Tree Runs! Payneee will take one session.

PRE SEASON FRIENDLIES
We are hoping to arrange friendlies against our friends at Fulham Deaf and AC Malden who won the Surrey Junior Cup earlier this month.

Congrats to Fulham who won the British Deaf Trophy at Goodison Park on 16th May. We hope to arrange our fixtures on the weekends of 14th, 21st or 28th August. Watch this space.

COMPETITIONS ENTERED
Surrey South East Combination Division One (starting 4th September), the Surrey County Cup and we will of course be defending the League Senior Cup!

FINANCES
We somehow generated a profit for 2009/10 most of which will be spent on capital projects (ie. the Hobbits loft conversion).

Match day subs, signing on fee and raffle all frozen at 2009/10 levels.

SPONSORSHIP
Negotiations are ongoing with a highly reputable firm of financial advisors. Hopefully more to announce in the near future.

NEW KIT
We hope to obtain a new nike kit for 2010/11. Details to follow.

WINTER TRAINING
Will be from 7:00-8.30pm at the current location in Battersea Park. This will include a compulsory 15-20 mins of track work.

POST MATCH PUB
Dan will investigate a new pub near a train station with free parking (whats wrong with the Oak?! - Ed)

LEAGUE MEETING - 1st July 2010
Hobbit has very kindly offered to attend!

KIT WASHING
Dan to nominate a kit washer before each game.

NEW TRAINING TOPS/TRACKSUITS
Rulo will look into this. Suggestions welcome.

SUMMER SOCIAL
WAGS BBQ social on Saturday 26th June. Possibly Skel's 'Red  Square' pad if he completes the purchase if not the Putney Palace. We may do the POY awards etc if there are good numbers.

With the hour late and the number of shandies consumed into double figures, proceedings were wrapped up. The general consensus is the club is in good shape and we have much to be positive about as we look forward to another exciting season of SSEC football.
